Healthy Recipe For Fresh Baked Apples

June 28, 2007 by Free Recipes · Leave a Comment

This is such a great healthy dessert, especially in the fall and winter, right after the apple harvest. Not only is it a great way to get an extra serving of fruit, but it also makes your house smell wonderful. If you’ve never tried baking apples before, definitely try this recipe. You’ll love the combination of warm apples and cinnamon. The pecan nuts give it a nice little crunch.

Baked Apples Recipe

4 Granny Smith apples
¼ cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ cup raisins
Cinnamon for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 325F. In a bowl, combine the raisins, pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon. Wash and core each apple and place in a baking dish. Divide the brown sugar/raising mixture into four parts and fill each apple with the mixture. Bake approximately 40 minutes or until tender.
